Police Misconduct and Corruption Essay Police and Society January 31, 2013 Police Misconduct and Corruption In the mid 1990’s police fierceness had gotten normal; cops manhandled their forces and became ruthless when managing guilty parties and even non-wrongdoers. One notorious case of such mercilessness happened in 1992 in Los Angeles when a dark man named Rodney King was brutally beat by five officials for being â€Å"black. The five officials more than once struck King as a couple of different officials remained by not giving any consideration to the circumstance close by. Two of the five officials were later cleared which maddened the dark and Latino people group the world over as did the tape of the occurrence. This occurrence did anyway put more consideration and mindfulness on the issue of police ruthlessness. Half a month after the King episode, a medication outrage in New York emitted into another police severity occurrence. This provoked an examination on police debasement by the Mollen Commission. The examination discovered numerous events of police manhandles, including severity, debasement, and prevarication. A century prior to the Mollen Commission, in 1894 the Lexow Commission in New York found similar events of police severity. This shows police debasement has been continuing for a long time and is proceeding to happen now. I have decided to investigate Police Brutality since I think that its crazy that the individuals who pledged to secure us cheat the law and utilize extreme power without reason. I am studying Sociology and Criminal Justice, so I am interested to find out regarding why officials want to get merciless. Is it a desire of intensity? I’m keen on finding out about the humanism of police ruthlessness.
